A really good tip for your last minute, late availability holiday in Fort William or Oban on the West Coast of Scotland
If you are thinking of stopping in this wondrous area for a few days, then think about self catering. Against hotels or B&Bs, self catering offers you the lowest cost and the maximum amount of freedom to come and go as you please. In the low season if you fill the property the cost can be as low as £12 per person per day. No B&B meets that. You can eat in, too. Fabulous value in stunning cottages. You don’t have to take breakfast at a certain time, you don’t get the doors locked between 10.00 and 5.00. Total freedom..
But...
In the school holidays, these holiday cottages only sell full weeks and are nearly always booked, but you might be lucky. In the shoulder season there will be holiday cottage vacancies, and someone might do a short break for three or four nights. Just ask.
